As Christmas approaches and we’re all overwhelmed by the countless errands that must get done before the holidays arrive, it’s the perfect time to relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy the sounds of the season by attending Angel Magic – SONG's 5th Annual Christmas concert being held on Saturday December 16, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Port Hope United Church, 34 South Street.
Sounds of The Next Generation (SONG) is a socially inclusive free after school program that provides exceptional choral and string instruction for children in Cobourg or Port Hope. The 66 members of the SONG children's choir will be singing with the Safe Harbour Chamber Choir along with 25 strings including Violins, Violas and Cellos, who will also perform on their own. Safe Harbour is an adult chamber choir comprised of 16 singers from across Northumberland County that was established to work with the SONG program to provide inspiration and mentorship for the young singers.
The doors for Angel Magic will open at 2:15 p.m. and the concert begins at 3:00 p.m. The Port Hope United Church will be fully decorated for Christmas and concert goers will hear many traditional carols as well as new Christmas songs. Rumour has it even the Grinch will make an appearance! This concert will be a wonderful celebration of children, music and the holidays! Tickets are $5 and are available at Ten Thousand Villages in Cobourg, Furby House Books in Port Hope and at the door.
