TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the Town of Cobourg has received complete applications for an amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning By-law (By-law No. 85-2003), and approval of a Draft Plan of Subdivision & Condominium by Fotenn Planning & Design on behalf of Sunnyside Village Inc. under Sections 34 and 51 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c.P. 13, as amended.
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Municipal Council of the Town of Cobourg has rescheduled the hybrid Public Meeting to Monday, October 03rd, 2022 at 5:00 pm in accordance with Sections 34 and 51 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c.P. 13, as amended.
THE PURPOSE of the application is to amend the Zoning By-law, and to obtain approval for a Draft Plan of Subdivision and Condominium for subject property, municipally known as 540 King Street East, a 3.97 Hectare lands with an existing two-storey dwelling, barn and silo. The subject property is located on the north side of King Street East, south of the CN/CP Railway corridor, and east of East Village Subdivision (see Context Map below). The Subject Lands are designated “Residential Area” in the Town of Cobourg Official Plan (2017) and zoned Rural Area Exception Three (RU-3) in the Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 085-2003, as amended. The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, Draft Plan of Subdivision and Condominium applications are to facilitate the development of a mix of single detached units, semi-detached units, townhouses and stacked townhouses totalling up to 90 dwelling units, as well as blocks for public parkland, roads and private laneways. The proposal intends on preserving the existing Heritage Designated dwelling and to utilize the barn as part of the proposed uses.
NOTE TO THE PUBLIC: In-person public meetings will be convening in the 3rd Floor Council Chambers, Victoria Hall, 55 King Street West, Cobourg or if you wish to participate via Zoom Video Conference, you should register with Brent Larmer, Municipal Clerk, via e-mail at clerk@cobourg.ca or by phone at (905)372-4301 no later than 12:00 pm (noon) on October 03rd , 2022 in order to obtain the Zoom Video Conference access details. If you have limited access to technology or do not wish to participate via electronic platform, you may use a telephone and call in to participate. Alternatively, written submissions to the Municipal Clerk, 55 King Street West, Cobourg, Ontario, K9A 2M2 in advance of the Public Meetings are encouraged and will be made available to any interested person at the Public Meeting. Submission may also be made after the Public Meeting and prior to the decision on the Draft Plan Approval of the Plan of Subdivision, if approved by Council.
